Junior Full-Stack Developer

We are looking for a full-stack developer to maintain and extend projects such as a financial budgeting application (a scenario-based budget tool that manages hierarchical cost data across monthly fiscal periods).

You will maintain and extend the Python/FastAPI backend and the Next.js frontend, responsible for new feature delivery, ongoing maintenance, and improvements to reliability and developer experience.

Backend

Requirements:

- Python with FastAPI

- Experience with SQLModel

- JWT / JWKS authentication using PyJWT with EdDSA signing (integrated with Better Auth)

Nice to have:

- Familiarity with SQL/T-SQL including analytical queries, database design, indexes, views, materialized views and functions

- Experience with Docker

- Experience with Azure Container Apps

Frontend (apps/web)

Requirements:

- Next.js

- Tailwind

- Better Auth for session management and token issuance

- React Context API for client-side state management

- Next.js Server Actions for data access

Nice to have:

Experience with Vercel for deployments

Domain Expertise (nice to have):

- Finance or accounting domain knowledge

Requirements

- US Citizen – background check required

- 1+ years of professional full-stack development

- Able to attend in-person interview in Austin or Houston

- Able to meet in-person in Austin on occasion
